How Important is the Last Letter Anyway?
Does the data support our expectations when it comes to 4L dot coms?

When it comes to 4L dot coms, we all know that names ending in certain letters carry more value simply by ending in those letters. C is typically mentioned as the most valuable, because the domain can easily be a 3 letter acronym plus the letter for corporation, company and capital. In the same vein, 4L’s ending in I can be a 3 letter acronym plus international, investments, incorporated and institute. A for association, agency, alliance and advisors. So does the data tell the story we think it does? Here is a list of each letter along with the number of domains sold and the average price. The list comes from all 4L’s that sold at GoDaddy expiring auctions since January 1, 2023 for under $7k. I chose $7k, because it weeds out most of the high dollar CVCV’s and other types of names that skew the averages dramatically. It isn’t perfect, but the data is interesting. It may surprise you.
