Saturday's DSAD List: Dynadot loaded with great names today
Have a great weekend
After a full year of moving 300+ names over to Atom, I would say it was a roaring success. I doubled my sell-through rate and did around $400k in sales. No doubt in my mind they have some of the best discoverability in the industry and provide a great place to move quality domains.
I have one issue with Atom. I’ve never seen a full smile from Darpan. A little grin here and there, but never a full smile. He seems to be a very serious person, or maybe he just doesn’t like me. Both are very possible. It could also be cultural. I’m in retail and have learned that many cultures smile less than others. Russian women used to tell me I smiled too much and that it seemed like I was trying to hide something. Yes, I was told that more than once. If there’s such a thing as smiling too much, then I do. When I’m happy, I smile. It’s not a nervous smile. If I’m nervous, I tend to stay to myself. I say this in jest. I am sure he smiles and has plenty of belly laughs in private. We’ve barely crossed paths and it’s not like he was doing a stand up set when he speaks. He’s there to do business.
Darpan should definitely be smiling with what he’s built at Atom. Every day the platform gets a little better and continues to provide domain investors with a strong option to sell names. It’s clearly risen above others doing similar work. I have to give credit to Hilco and the team. It’s not a coincidence that Atom made a huge jump right when that team joined. I think Hilco is the superpower that doesn’t get showcased very often. Andrew Miller, Daniel K, and others should be commended. We all smile when they land you the big sale.
