The big thing I am adding recently is intention. It is something I have been lacking the last few years. I was dialed in hard for 25 years, probably more than anyone you have ever met. It was in more than one thing: running the nursery, running, my family, and domains. All three of them were treated as a full-time job to the point there literally was not five minutes extra in the day.
The last few years I put in work, but I wanted to not have to do something. I made it a point to not be fully dialed in to keep up my flexibility. It has been fine, but it is not who I am. So I started dialing in this summer, starting with my running. I am putting in the work, which I have not done since I retired. Sixty miles a week for five weeks, now seventy miles for the next few. Putting in speedwork, diet, lifting, and training with intention.
Same with domain investing. More analytics, more competing in auctions, and dialing in strategy and money management. I have space for one more big thing to do with intention. I am exploring a few areas and not talking about anything until it is time. But there will be signs.
I also have to figure out my living situation. Trying to figure out where we are going to live. We will always have a Midwest base, but we need a mountain base as well. Homes are just starting to come down. It has been a sellers market for years, but that is about to change. Then I will make my move. Literally.
