- Shane's Domain Auction Picks for July 21st
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I purposely don’t list my birthday on Facebook because I don’t want birthday wishes just for the sake of it. If you know, you know, and honestly, I feel like every day is my birthday. I have a great life. A great wife of 30 years who enjoys the same things I do. A daughter who calls nearly every day. A mom who lives down the road and is part of my daily life. A lot of great friends. I get to do what I want, when I want. Add in good health, and I really can’t ask for more.
So a birthday just marks another great year. I choose not to celebrate just one day, I celebrate every day. People say that, but ask those who know me. I constantly remind them how fortunate we are, even with the obstacles we face.
My wife took a few days off so we could spend time together hiking, and it hasn’t disappointed. We’ve been in the high country of Colorado for a month. The weather’s been 70 and sunny with no humidity nearly every day, while back home it’s been in the 90s with record humidity. Perfection vs. miserable. Again, very fortunate we can work from anywhere. Domains sell from anywhere. I can write anywhere. As long as I have an internet connection, I can make money.
Any domain investor who makes extra money can relate, we’re lucky. Domains are a big reason why every day feels like my birthday. I worked hard in my “regular” business, but domains are what allowed the next phase of the journey to start earlier, with some financial breathing room.
