As you’re reading this I am running an 8 hour race. The goal is to do as many miles as you can in 8 hrs. This year is going to be tough since its supposed to be mid 90s with 100 degree heat index. That always makes it harder. The goal is to do 50K and not overdo it. I am in the middle of marathon training and I’d like to keep training. I know I’ll be sore but the hope is I keep all my toenails and Tuesday I am back to training.
Last time I did something similar I did 50 miles but I did them over 12 hrs. I also rested every 4 miles. Not sure of my strategy here. I am thinking since its only 8 hrs I’ll do 4 stops, every 2 hrs and do a little walk run every once in a while to relax. I have almost zero chance of placing in my age group because the past several years the top three runners were all over 50. Something about that old man strength and tenacity. Of course I’ll let you know how I did on Monday. If I don’t make live, look for my domains on future expired domain auction lists
